The "2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report" distinguished CIPPEC as the best think tank in Argentina.
CIPPEC was distinguished as the best think tank in Argentina in the categories “national economic policy” and “social policy”, according to the “2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report” for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, for the first time it was recognized as the best think tank in Argentina in “Transparency and Good Governance”, a key recognition in a year where public management was challenged by the pandemic, the health crisis, the fall in economic activity, and the transfer of fiscal resources.
Founded 20 years ago, CIPPEC is a non-partisan organization that proposes, supports, evaluates and makes visible policies so that the country develops with equity and democracy is strengthened. It produces knowledge: in 2019 its researchers produced more than 40 publications, including public policy documents, working papers and reports. Based on this knowledge, the entity carries out projects at international, national, provincial and municipal levels, with governments of all political parties. Its team is made up of more than 100 people, including researchers and members of the institutional areas.
The “2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report”, elaborated by the University of Pennsylvania, surveys the best public policy centers by region, research area and performance. In the 2019 edition, CIPPEC was recognized as the second best think tank in Argentina and the fourth in Central and South America.
In addition, CIPPEC was again the best managed think tank in Argentina in 2020. This means that it disseminates institutional decisions among all the organization’s managers and fosters fluid communication between staff and managers, which generates mutual understanding, shared values and transparency. In addition, it manages to attract experts and involve them in the pursuit of the institutional mission, and provides staff training through plans and workshops.
Moreover, CIPPEC was distinguished as the best interdisciplinary research think tank in the country, as the one with the best network with other entities and as the one with the best public relations program. It is also the Argentine think tank with the best media strategy (print and digital) and use of the Internet.
Argentina, with 262 institutions, is the Latin American country with the most think tanks and ranks eighth worldwide.
These awards highlight CIPPEC’s role in the articulation between evidence-based public policies, applied research, public-private dialogues, and state management, in key and sensitive issues for Argentina.
